Capricorn Zodiac Sign

Capricorn Zodiac Sign

The responsible Capricorn is influenced by Saturn and belongs to the element earth. This symbolizes naturalness and down-to-earthness.

Capricorns are considered very determined. The typical signs of Saturn are reflected in the character of Capricorn: endurance, thoroughness, patience and concentration. It does not push itself into the foreground, but is rather quiet and reserved. Nevertheless or because of that, it gains a high reputation among its fellow human beings. Indefatigable diligence ultimately helps to reach its destination, which it never loses sight of on its way. Its adaptability and the joy of contact make Capricorn a very pleasant coeval. Nevertheless, it is not afraid of loneliness. It rarely shows affection and often seems unapproachable.

The fact that the Capricorn takes not only the career but also the love very seriously, it is absolutely faithful and demands the same from its partner. It gets along particularly well with the signs of the Zodiac Pisces, Virgo and Taurus, three very different characters.

The loving Pisces are looking for a protector and find it in the rational Capricorn. With their empathy, the Pisces could reach the emotions of the Capricorn, so that it opens up a bit. In this relation, the opposing characteristics attract.

The somewhat decent Virgo is as dutiful and orderly as the Capricorn. A burning passion may not appear, but a profound and honest affection. The two signs of the Zodiac can rely on each other and appreciate that very much.

The ambitious Taurus does not rank behind the Capricorn in its diligence. As a partner, the two signs of the Zodiac can create great things. In addition, the Capricorn may learn from the Taurus to reward itself for the laborious work it does all the time. Both are looking for security and straight lines.

The Capricorn is probably one of the oldest constellations, already the Babylonians recognized it and called it a "goatfish". The name arises from the Greek mythology: When the God Pan with his legs of an ibex fled from Typhon jumping into the sea, he wanted to turn into a fish, which he succeeded only half. Typhon later attacked Zeus and wrested his tendons. Pan put them back again later with the help of Hermes, his reward was that he was set in the sky as a constellation.

The brightest star of the constellation Capricorn is called "Deneb Algedi". Overall, there are only three stars brighter than magnitude three. On the other hand, many binary stars that can be seen with binoculars or small telescopes are included in the constellation. In the tropical zodiacs, the sun passes through this zodiac between the 22nd of December and the 20th of January each year.
