The melancholic Scorpio is influenced by Pluto and belongs to the element of water. It looks very calm on the outside, but it is driven by intelligence, dynamism and sociability.
Even though people with the sign of the Zodiac Scorpio appear outwardly controlled and calm, they are always accompanied by a seething intensity and emotional energy. The ingenious Scorpio makes use of this energy by captivating its counterpart with an immense and magnetic intensity. For conventional, social occasions, the Scorpio is a pleasant partner, thoughtful in conversation, dignified, reserved and always friendly. Through its unique traits and its openness, it often polarizes the people around. The Scorpio is particularly quick-witted and uses word and look purposefully. Its goals are straightforward and uncompromising. Nevertheless, it is a kind-hearted host and sociable person, with whom profound discussions can be conducted.
The scorpion needs a patient partner who appreciates its idiosyncrasies. Here, the zodiacal signs of the water elements remain with one another: It gets along particularly well with the signs of the Zodiac Pisces, Cancer and the Scorpio itself.
Both the Pisces and the Cancer are fascinated by the initially inscrutable Scorpio. They are very aware of their emotions and can communicate them, something the Scorpio still lacks to do. So it can learn a lot from the two open-hearted zodiacal signs. In return, the Scorpio offers a personality to lean on.
In the Greek mythology there are many different narratives. In one, Artemis is said to have sent the scorpion to kill Orion. The hunter Orion intended to kill all the wild animals, which displeased the Goddess of the Hunt. According to another transmission, it was Apollon, who sent the scorpion, but for other reasons: In jealousy, he wanted to kill his friend Orion, as Artemis was attracted to him.
The Scorpio (Greek: Σκορπιός, "Scorpios", Latin: "Scorpio") is the eighth sign in the Zodiac, which spans the celestial longitude of 210 to 239 degrees. In the tropical zodiacs, the sun passes through this area between the 24th of October and the 22nd of November each year. In sidereal astrology, the sun passes through the constellation between November 16th and December 15th.
